PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. The health care worker will be able to discuss and define basic anatomy and physiologic differences between the pediatric patient and an adult.

2. List the normal range of heart rates and respiratory rates as related to age.

3. Be able to list three advantages of pulse oximeters versus transcutaneous monitors.

4. List four signs or symptoms of respiratory failure in the infant.
